DLP2010EVM-LC: Replacing flash memory

Part Number: DLP2010EVM-LC

Hello!

I have DLP2010EVM-LC and I am interested in builting an optical setup around it. Hence, I have removed the flash memory board from the flex and soldered "W25Q32JVSSIQ"  on the board instead. The goal is to use another flex cable later to connect only to the DLP. For this, can you tell me in which option the current flex cable is routed?

Returning back to the flex cable you already provide with the EVM, as the EVM has no software after removing the original flash, this is what appears on the GUI when the EVM is connected to my laptop.

When I press on Get button, I get this error,

Therefore, I decided to ignore that and try to install the EVM firmaware provided on TI's website. To do that, I powered the EVM up without turning the projector on. Then connected the USB to the EVM. This is the message I get while installing "dlp2010evm-lc_7.3.1.img".

I assume there is something wrong I am doing but cannot figure it out. Especially that I am using the exact Flash you mentioned on your scematics. Do you have any idea how I can fix this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Anas
