DLPLCR4500EVM: DLPLIGHTCRAFTER: Light crafter GUI Connecting Issue with windows 10

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM

Hello,

I have recently problem start with Lightcrafter GUI.

I am using since long time windows 10 but it was connected with GUI, but last few days I am having a problem with connectivity. DLP detects in my windows 10 system but not connect with GUI interface.

I am attaching screenshot for the same.

This thread is already there, but there is no solution to it.

Looking forward for the solution.

Thank you

Gopi

  • Hi Gopi,

I can understand your concern and let me have a look in to this. Before looking in to this can you please answer my below query :

you mentioned that you were using GUI in past on windows 10 but suddenly it stops working (connection issue). Have you changed anything in the hardware ?

or did you update the firmware ? which GUI version and firmware version are you using ?

    Thanks,

    Navneet

  • Hello Navneet, Thankful to you. I suppose it is mostly due to usb driver issues. Recently to detect DVS (Dynamic Vision Sensor) camera, I installed winusb driver for this camera. After that also GUI worked very well. After I restarted my system. I guess from that time (for last 3 or 4 days) it stopped working. I tried moving jumper to J18 to upload firmware, then it is saying unable to read flash manufacturer id. When I went through posts related to it, it is mentioned that it is usb driver issue. I uninstalled usb drivers and restarted my laptop. Once I connected the device same problem persists. When I connected to other windows 10 system it is working. It tells that it is not firmware issue, not even GUI but mostly related to my laptop usb driver issue. I am using latest GUI nd firmware available from TI website. Please help me it out. Looking forward. Thank you Gopi
  • Hello,

I could resolve this problem. The issue is with USB drivers only.

    Problem:

I replaced usb driver with WinUsb driver using Zadig (USB driver installer) to resolve some other issue not related to GUI. Eventually I ended up in above mentioned problem. With other system my GUI is working very well.

    Things didn't workout:

    1) I uninstalled all usb drivers and restarted system. Finally my laptop is ended up in installing the same drivers that I uninstalled.

    2) Then I tried my laptop to forget the device by following steps.

Unplugged the device --> Opened device manager --> View menu --> Show hidden devices --> Uninstalled the drivers related to device by pressing this dialog box, 'Delete the driver software for this device'.

    3) I tried moving jumper to J18 to upload firmware, then it is saying unable to read flash manufacturer id. This is because of USB driver issue.

    4) Tried uninstalling and re-installing GUI.

So finally I am sure that it is because of USB driver then I tried in that direction.

    Worked out solution:

    I got it from www.reddit.com/.../

    1. In Device Manager, find the device that's had its driver ****ed up. In my case, the same device was in multiple locations.

    2. Right click and uninstall making sure to check "Delete the driver software for this device" if that option is available.

    3. Action > Scan for hardware changes

    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the device either starts working or nothing shows up after scanning. I had to repeat this about 5 times.

    5. If it stops showing up, re-insert the USB.

    6. It should be fixed now, but if not repeat this entire process until it is.

    Finally it worked out.

    Thank you

    Gopi

  • Hi Gopi,

Currently there is a bug in the GUI v3.1.0 that causes problem in updating the flash memory in Windows 10 environment. This issue will be fixed in the next maintenance release of the GUI.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hirak.
