DLPLCR6500EVM: Standby frozen - Controller /DMD Incompatible

Hi everyone,

we just bought a DLPLCR6500EVM from DigiKey but we cannot make it work.

As you can see in the following picture, the board is in standby mode and cannot be switched to normal mode. Besides, the status error 'Controller /DMD Incompatible' is raised:

Following similar threads, we tried to:

- Test different USB cables

- Re-upload the firmware following these instructions (both with and without jumpers J3 and J11)

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Hi Giorgio,

There is a debug print mechanism using UART. Could you please connect the rx of the UART receiver to tx pin (J6 pin no 2 on the board) and GND (pin 6) and send me the debug log. Baud rate to be set at 115200.

I am doubting the communication with the DMD failing which I can confirm with the log.

Hi Giorgio,

Thank you for the debug log. As I can in the log, there is no communication error with the DMD.

One thing you can verify is to re-flash the firmware with the latest released version. If you get the same issue, I suggest you to return it to Digikey and get another one. The ID is fused into the DMD and it should provide the product ID which is confirmed in the software.
