DLP4710: There are vertical stripes in dlp4710 and power failure does not disappear

Part Number: DLP4710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2, DLPC3439, DLPA3005

hello:

1)DLP4710 Now the test picture can be displayed normally, but it is found that there are vertical stripes on the mirror surface, and the position is fixed. The power supply of the test DMD is normal, and the stripes also exist after power failure.

2)Can data mapping errors cause DMD corruption?

  • Hello user,

Unfortunately this can occur during improper power down. I have not seen it cause from improper pin mapping though. Unfortunately there is no way to fix it short of a new DMD.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Hello:

    My system is DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2:

Whether to press SW21 first when the system is powered down, so as to power off proj? On, and power off when the toggle switch SW28?

  • Hello,

Please view section 5 of the user's guide for the proper power down procedure. Specifically:

When turning off the projector, push ON/OFF switch (SW21) and then move slide switch (SW28) to the OFF position before removing the power cable. IMPORTANT NOTE: To avoid potential damage to the DMD, it is required to turn off the projector with the above sequence before disconnecting the power.

You may view the DLPC3439, DLPA3005, and DLP4710 datasheet for the specifics of the ICs. In summary, you always need to turn off the DLP system using PROJ_ON.

    Thanks,

    Kyle
