DLP3010: compatibility with Nvidia Jetson family (nano, tk1/tk2, xavier)

Part Number: DLP3010
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3430, DLPC-API

Hello,

We are trying to build a 3d reconstruction system that includes MIPI camera, projector, Nvidia Jetson cpu (Nano/TK/Xavier). We used TI DLP projector before in our windows setup, however since we are moving towards NVidia jetson which is arm64 Linux based, I wonder whether your projector and GUI can work with Linux setup. Do you have plan to support Linux? Many small embedded systems are now Linux based.

thanks,

Chang

  • Hello Chang,

I'm curious what you mean in asking if our projectors support Linux? We are operating system agnostic and simply accept data over the specified interface. For example, the DLPC3430 accepts video data over a 24-bit parallel interface or over DSI (display serial interface). Could you please help me understand your question a bit more and explain what you are trying to do?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • I understand the DLP projector will work under the right interface, however I need to control the projector under Linux environment because nvidia Jetson is arm64 Linux operating system. So my question is actually whether the GUI for lightcrafter support Linux or whether you have the source code that I can rebuild under arm64 Ubuntu.

    Thank you!

  • Hello Chang,

We do not have the GUI available for Linux. You can use the DLPC3433 programmer's guide to implement I2C commands in the platform of your choice. Alternatively we have a C based DLPC-API that could be used in a Linux environment.

    Thanks,

    Kyle
