DLP4500: DLP PRO 4500 doesn't turn on LEDs

Part Number: DLP4500

Hi,

I have been using a DLP PRO 4500 projector (RGB) for the last 4 months but it stopped working. Now, when I plug the projector to the power supply, the fan starts, stops and restarts, D7 diode turns red and then turns green and the D4 diode flashes on and off green. However, the projector doesn't display the screen with the DLP and Lightcrafter logo anymore as it used to. I suspect it is a problem with the LEDs in the light engine or with the LED drivers.

Could you please help me with this?

Thanks

  • Alvaro,

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

Here are some initial questions from me:

    > You mention that you do not see DLP splash logo on boot anymore. Do you still see any LED activity from the optical engine?

    > Have you made any modifications to the system software or hardware between now and when the system was working?

    > What system software version are you using with your EVM?

    > Are you still able to communicate with the EVM using your PC GUI software?

    Regards,

    Philippe Dollo

  • Hi Philippe,

    Thanks for your reply,

I don't see any LED activity at all from the optical engine and I haven't done any modifications to the system.

The PC GUI software that I am using is the DLP LightCrafter 4500 Control Software v4.0.0 and yes, I am able to communicate with the EVM using the GUI. I can make the projector display the logo when I enter LED drivers values manually (0-255) in the Red and Green channel (not in the Blue channel or multiple channels) and display Red or Green Internal Test Patterns.

    Best,

  • Hi Alvaro,

Are you using the same power supply as you used before? Could you kindly also check the voltage and current rating of the power supply you are using currently? Also, when you try to turn on both Red and Green LEDs does the system shut down and restart?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.
