DLP2000: DLP2000 addressing

Part Number: DLP2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC2607,

I have some further question regarding the functional block diagram:

- For the green Column Write block, does it mean that the mirror data is written to one column at a time (i.e., 639 pixels at a time using data[11:0]), and a total of 359 times for the entire DMD?

- How is addressing controlled during the write? Does one of the control signal send an "address increment" signal to the DMD?

- How is color controlled? Is it controlled by the LED source, or the pulse of the DMD?

  • Hello Talia,

The DLP technology is a chip-set solution and are designed  for a specific application. DLP2000 DMD is paired with DLPC2607 controller. This chip-set combination enables a high image quality display application at very attractive price point.

The DLP controller DLCP2607 along with firmware is designed to manage the communication and control of DMD. This process is completely transparent to end application.

The DMD is agnostics to illumination source. The controller along with firmware controls the switching of DMD mirror and also generates the PWM signal to control LED.

Please refer to DLPC2607 datasheet and programmer guide for further details.
