HI There

We are looking for new grating part for NIRscan Nano.

We have to check below issue , please help us .

TI documents describe that DMD has underfill area .

Can we choose available grating that cover the area and we can use original underfill area and control full DMD column?

I will look into this for you. To be clear, you are asking if there is a grating option that has a less significant underfill? Would you be able to tell me of your concern with the underfill area and reason for other options or more control?

Hi Kevin,

Section 3.2.1 of the DLP Spectrometer Design Considerations app note explains the purpose of the undefiled and overfilled area in our NIRscan Nano design. This is not strictly required when using DLP in spectroscopy, but can reduce the amount of mechanical adjustment necessary during alignment and calibration.

Please be aware that modifying the optics or designing a new optical system will then require recalibration of the system. The calibration method concept is described in section 4.1 of the same app note.

We can find grating part and design optical path therefore we have to check if we can use full DMD area and control all column?

Hi Kevin,

The entire mirror array of the DLP2010NIR is controllable with the DLPC150 controller. The software included with the DLP NIRscan Nano includes calibration coefficients to locate the wavelengths on the DMD and generate patterns based on those locations. Depending on your needs, you could write new software to generate or send patterns to the DLPC150, or modify the NIRscan Nano Tiva reference software.
