DLPNIRNANOEVM: DLP NIRscan nano dont start

Welcome to TI E2E Forums! Could you kindly reflash the latest TIVA SW v2.1.0 and DLPC150 FW v2.2.0 available on TI.com? The reprogramming functionality is provided on GUI Utilities tab.

Thanks in advance. When I try to update the TIVA firmware it finishes successfully, however for the DLPC150 when I click on update nothing happens. 

If I connect the NIRscan Nano to the PC the green led is blinking 1 time per second once I open the GUI software the yellow led starts blinking 2 times per second and the green one time per second.

What esle can I do.

Do you still see the same errors with the current firmware setup? It sounds like you weren't able to update the DLPC150, which may be a problem.

Does the DLPC150 report out a firmware version number? The above screenshot shows "0.0.0"

I see the same error. That thing is that the device is connected but there is not TIVA and DLPC150 firmware information.

The DLPC150 does not report firmware version the value is 0.0.0 like so TIVA firmare 0.0.0. If I try to update the DLPC150 firmware nothing happen when I click the update buttom. For the TIVA if i click the update buttom the update process is carried out successfully.

I will apreciate any help.

Hi Ronny,

As per NIRScan Nano user guide section 1.2.3.1.1 LEDs blinking yellow light indicates scan error. Can you confirm that the Green light always blinks one per second and never more than that?

Hi Hirak,

Yes, the green led is alway blinking one time per second. And the yellow two times per second. What could cause this behavior since the device seems to be conennected, I can red the sensor values (TIVA temperature, humidity ans so ) but there is not firmware version.

Could you kindly check the bottom bar of he NIRScan Nano GUI window and let me know which flags you see when this NIRScan Nano error occurs? Kindly see an example below.

The Scan is red and the Tiva is orange. If i click on Scan the info says :

"Scan Erro: DLPC150 Ini error detected" as you can see in the pic.

Could you kindly confirm that J5 (80Pin connector) on the TIVA boad  that connects the TIVA Board and DLPC150 board together is firmly attached and no signs of damage can be seen? If there is any sign of damage this maybe the reason for the following error. As you said DLPC150 FW flashing doesn't happen, this could be the reason.

Let me describe the actual status of my device:

-During the tests I tried many times to upgrade and downgrade the Tiva firmware only (from 2.0 to 1.0 and vice versa) because never allowed me to upgrade the DLP150 firmware. In one chance I was able that the GUI v 2.0 recognized the firmware’s version (Tiva and DLP150) of the device. when I clicked on scan the lamp turned on, however they kept on and an message showed up ("Scan failed") I tried at least 3 times with the same result, each time I had to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to reset and turn off the lamp.

After that, the device came back to the status of the beginning. I tried once again to upgrade the Tiva firmware unfortunately I took the wrong one by mistake :( (Innospectra firmware) and after the process the device is completely dead. Now there are no led lights when I connect the device to the PC and It is not recognized neither by the PC nor by the software GUI 2.0.

I have read some cases in the TI forum and seems that I will need the XDS degug to restore the original firmware. Is that correct?

If I can restore the device to the original state I will check again and see if reconnect the J5 (80Pin connector) could help somehow.

I am sorry to hear about your problems with the firmware reflash.

In this case it may be necessary to reprogram the system with a debugger. Do you have one available?

Yes, I already ordered the XDS110 debbuger I hope it can work. A soon as I get it I will let you know may be I wil need some assitence how to reprogram the system. I am chemical engineer with basic knowledge in informatic.

Hi Ronny, 

Kindly Install LM flash programmer utility. This can be useful for loading the FW on the device using the debugger.
