Dear all,

I have a NIRscannao EVM unit, it was working fine but now when I scan a sample in hadamard configuration I get most of the time a noisy spectrum. See picture 1 and 2 they are the same sample without moving the NIR nano neither the sample. If I scan in column configuration this behavior is not present.

Any suggestion what can cause this ?? The firmware and software are the last version aviable. I need to work in hadamard because the repetibility is higher in compation with the colum one.

Hello Ronny,

Welcome DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology. I noticed that second Hadamard scan has less variation (noise) in the scan. Was thee any difference in scan setting or sample placement?

Any sample movement or vibration during scan will cause a noise in the result especially for higher SNR method. Please refer to section 3.1.1 of DLPScan NIR Nano user guide. This section has details of sample scanning and suggestion for minimizing the noise.

You can some of the following see if it improves:

1. Increase "Number of scans to average"

2. Keep lamp ON

3. Change configuration to increase pattern width

Hi Vivek,

Thank you so much for you help, however as aI mentioned before the 2 firts spectrum they were the same sample without moving the NIR nano neither the sample. Spectrums taken in a row, so I think they were not affected by sample movement or vibration during scan. In addition I have tried with more expose time, more scan to average, and diferents Hadarmard configuration with the same result.

Any other advice ??.

Hi Vivek,

Thanks for you help!!!...When I work with column configuration I have noticed that the repetibility is low , scanning the same sample I have seen (an check cell sample) some variation in the spectrum but with the hadamard is much better however I am faceing now this issue.

I have not got any good feedback on this issue. I will pick couple of units and experiment it to explore what conditions are causing it.

Hello Ronny,

I ran experiments on 2-3 units today and not able to reproduce the behavior. I had seen this behavior on one unit in the past and now this unit is giving a good scan with hadamard.

Could you please run experiment at your end see if you are stilling seeing the same problem? If the problem is still there, please try the following:

1. Reboot the PC and scan again

2. If problem continues, please try using another windows machine

Please let me know your findings. I suspect that it could be due to some uninitialized variable in the code or stack corruption. Your finding will help me isolate if the problem is due to GUI or firmware in EVM.

Thank you for your patience. It took time for me to get back to this issue. It had been very hectic and limited tools access due to current environment.
