I am an engineer with eInfochips, a subsidiary of Arrow Electronics, and have a question from one of our end customers. As one of your distributors, we would like to request the following information:

Please share us all the difference between DLPDLCR3010EVM and DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2

I saw a similar case here but it does not have detailed information please advise.

Hello Vraj,

The updates to the DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 from the first generation DLPDLCR3010EVM include:

Increased power tree to 19V from 5V
PMIC changed to DLPA3000 from DLPA2005
Max LED current increase to 6A from 2.5A causing increase of brightness to 230 RGB Lumens

As an important note, the first generation DLPDLCR3010EVM has reached EOL, is no longer produced, and has very limited support.

Design files and more information for the first generation and second generation DLPDLCR3010EVMs can be found on their respective pages linked in this sentence.

Hello Vraj,

The first three images are of the second generation EVM.

The following two images appear to be the first generation EVM, although it is difficult to say with certainty based on the pictures alone.

Actually, The second set of images do not appear to be the DLP3010 EVM at all. This board is actually the DLP LightCrafter 3000, which uses the DLP3000 chipset (not the DLP3010 chipset). it is also an EVM intended for light control applications, not display applications. Meanwhile, the first set of images is the Gen-1 3010 EVM, not the Gen-2. So, in summary:

> Images 1 - 3: DLP LightCrafter 3010 Gen 1

> Images 4 - 5: DLP LightCrafter 3000 (by Keynote Photonics)

You can differentiate the Gen 1 from the Gen 2 easily by the connectors. The Gen 2 has a mini-USB port, while the Gen 1 has one of the large USB Type-B ports.
