DLPC3437: some questions about DPLC3437 EVM

Part Number: DLPC3437
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA3000, DLPDLCR3310EVM

Hi team,

we have some quesiton about DLPC3437 EVM

1. In the figure 4-1 of DLPC3437 EVM, there have a FPGA block. what's the function of FPGA?

2. Which firmware  can provide to customer? for example DLPA3000, DPLC3437 or FPGA?

3. How to control the focal length and backlight of optical machine?deos it control by MSP430?

thanks.

  • Hi Betty,

    1. The FPGA is to control the actuator for XPR. This allows the DLPDLCR3310EVM to display 1080p resolution with a smaller DMD.

    2. The firmware for the DLPDLCR3310EVM will be programmed to the controllers on the EVM. The FPGA is pre-programmed before being added, and the DLPC3437 controller firmware will configure the controllers to communicate properly with all systems on the EVM.

    3. The focus on the optical engine can be adjusted using the knob as illustrated in Figure 6-1 in the user's guide. The LEDs are driven by the DLPA3000 PMIC based on the video data and firmware configurations uploaded to the DLPC3437 controllers. The controller can also be programmed using the DLPC3437 software programmer's guide

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Chris
