DLP6500FYE: How to load pattern sequence faster?

Hi Texas Instruments,

I have used DLPLCR6500EVM for several days, and I found that it's very slow to load the designed pattern sequence whose bit depth is 1 after clicking 'Update LUT' in DLP LightCrafter 6500 & 9000 GUI. For example, it took about one minute to load 200 patterns and I wonder if there any method to speed up this process. Another question is that how to properly clean the DMD chip (DLP6500FYE) surface if there is some dirt to avoid damage the DMD chip?

Hi Wenbin Jiao,

There is no other method to increase speed.

Instead of using Pattern on the fly mode which requires loading patterns every time, can you try to use Pre Stored Pattern mode.

You can create Firmware with 200 one bit patterns and update the firmware.
Now, Update LUT will only define LUT table which is faster than sending all the Pattern images through USB.

Hi Shivakumar,

Thanks for your advice and it really helps me. However, it seems that there is a limitation of 400 for the number of patterns, and I can't load pattern sequece whose number is over 400. Can I do something to remove this limitation?

Hi Wenbin Jiao,

This cannot be removed. DLPC900 Hardware can only load 400 Bit planes at a time.
