Thank you for uploading the files. I noticed light signal level in the not working unit is very low. Could you please do the following to the non working unit:

1. Please check there is no dirt or material on the window and illumination unit.  You can unscrew the illumination head and check inside is also clean

2. Please make sure every connector is properly secured including one to lamp.

3. Please take new factory reference using 99% NIR reflector standard.

Please share scan result  after that.

Thank you for the suggestions.

- About dirt, I have the habit of always cleaning the outside window before use. I couldn't do the cleaning of the inside window, cause I don't have the keys necessary to unscrew. However, I believe that if there is any dirt it is imperceptible.

- Apparently the lamps are ok, both are turning on. I took pictures for easy viewing and are in the attached file.

The new spectros using new factory reference are in the attached file too.

Lets try following  experiment:

1. Please take scan of a sample using factory reference

2. Please select new reference and scan 99% reflective standard ( this reference scan is saved in laptop and is used when you select previous button for future scan).

3. Please scan the sample sample with previous button selected (not factory).

Please upload both CSV files.

Hello Paula,

Thank you for your patience. I noticed the bad unit is reading a low flat level of signal across all wavelength. I assume you scanned a same sample which was used for the good example in previous case.

Lets reprogram the DLPC150 and TIVA firmware. After you have reprogrammed , lets check sensors if they are working.

Could you please do the following:

1. Download firmware from TI website.

2. Update DLPC150 and TIVA firmware by selecting the utility tab in GUI.

3. After you have updated the firmware, please power cycle the EVM by disconnecting the USB . It may be good idea to close the GUI and restart.

4. Start the GUI and connect EVM. Please select "information" tab in GUI, Capture screen and please upload.

5. Select -"Utilities" tab; click on "read" under sensor and Battery charger. Capture screen and please upload.

6. Please overwrite "reference calibration" using 99% reflective standard  (utilities tab - "replace reference calibration" section)

7. Please scan the sample for both configuration

a. Factory reference

b. Previous reference - I noticed that CSV file didn't have a valid reference values in the CSV file.  You need to first take a scan of 99% standard with "New" button selected under "Scan Reference Select" section. Then take scan of sample with "previous" button selected.

I have a doubt:

- When you ask to take a scan of 99% standart, what is it really? 99 is the number of scans?

Where I select this 99% of the standard? Can you tell me how I select this option in the software?

I ask because I think I'm not doing this right.

I followed your suggestions: updated the DLPC150 firmware and the TIVA software. Thank you for send me the downloads link.

After that, I did the sample scans (I used ground soy as a sample) as you suggested:

- firstly, I did take a scan of the sample using the boton Factory Reference;

- after that, I did take a scan of Reflectance Standard with "New" button selected under "Scan Reference Select" section. Then, I did take the sample scan with "previous" button selected.

It is important to mention that as Reflectance Standard Material I used Barium Sulphate. 

I will send you the CSV files scans using the NIR equipment with problem e the NIR that works well also.

I sent you a sample scans using the NIR that has a problem after the firmwares update. Also, for comparison of the results, I sent the files scans of a NIR that works normally. The readings were taken using a reflectance standard.

Do you have any positioning about the problem with this equipment? We really need this device.

Is there any possibility of replacing the device or refunding the money?
