DLP5530PGUQ1EVM: Half of the image is stripe

Part Number: DLP5530PGUQ1EVM

Hi Team,

Our customer is testing the DLP5530PGUQ1EVM. However the device is projecting an image where the right half is stripe. Please see the image below. Is the board defective or this is a pattern?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hello Danilo -

I am sorry to see that you have a defective unit. This faulty image pattern seems to show that there may be a connectivity issue between the DMD and its socket on the PCB.

We have found that sometimes with an issue like this, you can manually push the DMD so that its pins are properly seated in the socket. Can you please try to physically push on the back of the DMD. You may be able to use a flathead screwdriver to remove the heatsink and manipulate the DMD PCB and how it is mounted to the projector.

If this process does not work, or you are not comfortable making these modifications, then I would recommend returning the whole projector EVM for a full replacement. To jumpstart the return process, please go to www.TI.com/csc and select “Open a new support request.”

Again, we are sorry about this issue. Please reply if you have any questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Ross

  • Hi Ross,

    Thank you for your response.

Do we have any instruction manual or guide on how to fix the device on the board?

    Regards,

    Danilo

  • Hi Danilo -

Please reach out via email (rschneider@ti.com) to discuss next steps. A return is likely the best option.

    Thanks,
