DLP9500UV: DLP9500UV

Part Number: DLP9500UV

Hi team

My customer would like to know the damage threshold of the aluminum mirrors on a DMD.  if he remove the window, and illuminate the DMD with CW UV laser at 317nm, the damage threshold of the DMD would be determined by the damage threshold of the aluminum mirrors? Or is the damage threshold limited by the mechanics or circuits that sit in between the mirrors?

Thank you.

  • Hello Yanni,

TI does not support removing of the DMD window.  There is proprietary material inside the DMD that helps to insure reliable operation of the mirrors.

The mirrors will not continue to operate once the window has been removed.  It may operate for a short period.

TI has not done any testing at 317 since it is well below the cutoff set by the data sheet.
