DLPC3433: Comparing with DLPC3438

Part Number: DLPC3433
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3438

I am comparing with the DLPC3433 vs DLPC3438. Both share the same datasheet. The 3433 is a smaller package and has DSI/LVDS, where it appears that the 3438 does not.

We are considering changing our design to the 3433 from the 3438 but have some questions below. Please advise:

1.) Power consumption of the 3433 vs the 3438?
2.) The 3433 will drive our light engine, correct?
3.) Any other functional differences between the 3433 and 3438?
4.) How about EOL of 3433 vs 3438?
5.) Which is newer? 3433 or 3438?
6.) Is there any reason not to switch to the 3433?
Thank you!
  • Hi Christopher,

The DLPC3438 was introduced first, followed by the newer DLPC3433. The only differences between the two parts are the smaller package size and support for DSI on the DLPC3433. Apart from that, both are functionally same and are interchangeable, so you should have no problems switching from one to another. We have no plans to EOL either part.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
