CCS/DLPC4422: What is the difference about DLPC4422 GUI and DLP composer

Part Number: DLPC4422
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP650NE

Tool/software: DLP Composer™

Hello everyone, could I how to design DLPC4422 software ? I want to design a projector  and choose  DLPC4422+DLP650NE chips. DLPC4422 GUI only debug projector parameter and download flash firmware?

  • Thanks for the question.

The DLPC4422 GUI is only for flash loading and control of the projector.  It does not allow substantial changes to the projector design, such as LED, laser phosphor, or color wheel details, etc..

DLP Composer™ is a tool suite that is necessary for the design and development of most DLP® projectors. It enables customization of various aspects of the projector, such as the illumination details (LED, laser phosphor, color wheel, etc.), gamma tables, Brilliant Color™, and other features. DLP Composer™ generally requires some level of training and support as well as exposing a fair amount of TI intellectual property. As such, DLP Composer™ is not currently available on TI.com and is only made available to development partners and customers under NDA.

If you are interested in developing a DLP® projector, you will need to work with your local TI sales team.

You could also work through one of our Optical Module partners. There are two listed for the DLP650NE on our display Optical Engine Page. There is a tool to search our optical module manufacturer partners here: https://www.ti.com/tool/DLP-OMM-SEARCH

Also, you mentioned “CCS” in your original question. CCS refers to Code Composer Studio™. CCS is not used with DLP® products.

  • Thanks for the your answer.

Where is DLP Composer usr guide. Now,i don't konw how to configure some parameters and genenate a *.img file about this software.

  • DLP Composer™ is released under NDA.  We are not able to support this tool in a public forum.  There is documentation available on the various product extranets that are available to customers under NDA.  You will need to contact your local support team for help with DLP Composer™.
