Uryyy,
Write Display Orientation(14h) command is indeed applicable for internal pattern mode as well.
Please point me to the information in the Software Programmer's Guide stating that this command is not applicable for Internal pattern mode. I couldn't find information related to this.

Hello Uryyy,
I wanted to give you some further clarification for your above query.
WriteDisplayImageOrientation is indeed not supported while running internal pattern mode.
The Pattern Orientation options that you are seeing in the GUI are not related to the Display Orientation Command. The options/parameters are used by the GUI tool in applying flips to the pattern data prior to programming them to the flash.
I hope this will clarify your query/concern.

Mayank
