I have read its document, and find that it has r g b three leds. In pattern sequence mode , one led can be selected in active.
can it make color or gray images?
thank for help

Hi Shuai Jia,
Welcome to DLP & MEMS section of TI E2E Community!
The Pattern Sequence Mode in the GUI accepts 1-8 bit depth patterns. In this mode, the patterns are pre-loaded in the mobile buffer (mDDR) to support higher frame rates. Only one LED can be chosen at a time in this mode. The DLPC300 Programmer's guide (Table 2-105) provides the frame rate information.
In the Video mode setting section of the "HDMI Video" tab, you can select three LEDs at once. The data is streamed as a video in this mode and supports 1,2 4 and 8 bit patterns. The frames rates are provided in Table 2-78 for this mode.

Hi Divya
I am puzzled.
Isn't the image color projected decided by the led? If only the green led is active, how can it produce black/white image?
I can got a dlp LightCrafter several days later and I get information from it's document. I might misunderstand some.
what's meaning of the internal genarated patterns? I can not find it in the control software
Thanks
Regards
Hi Jia,
Yes, you are correct, only green will be active and you will get green mono-chrome greyscale (for more than 1bit depth pattern mode) patterns. The LED driver circuit on the driver board is not having enough current to drive all three LEDs together so we have put restriction in the GUI software on selecting Red or Green or Blue (one LED only). If enabled, it might result in current overdrive and cause permanent damage to the board.
Another simple option would be to just replace any of the three LEDs with WHITE LED, you have to make sure the physical dimension and power of WHITE LED matches to existing Red/Green/Blue LEDs in the Light engine. With this modification you will get black and white images.

Sanjeev
Hi Jia,
In your previous question, by replacing GREEN led with WHITE led (I am not sure anybody selling this LED) will generate Black and White Images not the mono-chrome Green image.
LEDs can be configured to active together however I will have to check on making it public. Decrease LED current would help a bit but still I suggest it is not intended for this use with the LED driving current circuit on the driver board.

Sanjeev
Hi Tong,
The option is yet to be made into public. The only concern is that hardware can be damaged if it is run with this option so exposing this capability is risky.
Let me know your end application and perhaps we can have private chat to understand your requirement bettern. Can you send friend's request?

Sanjeev
Hi Tong,
Sorry for delayed reply.
Have replied to your friend's reqest.
Actually, Keynote Photonics, trying to build driver module for LightCrafter that will enable running all the LEDs so you can easily get gray color.
You can get in touch with them.

Sanjeev
Hi Tong,
Please send me an friend request or contact us through our Keynote contact page (clear here) and I can tell you more directly.
