Hi,
I want a schematics and BOM of flex cable connected to the driver board from the light engine. How can I get it?
And, serial ROM is implemented in the flex cable on, but what is the purpose of this ROM.
Best Regards, Masao

Hi Masao,
Welcome to the forum! I'm working on finding that information for you. While I'm looking, you may find more information by contacting the company, iView, who designed and makes the DLP LightCrafter4500's light engine. Their contact information is available from our TI Design Network page iView Limited.
Best regards,
Blair
Hi Masao,
For the schematic, please reference the DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM schematic and DLP4500 chipset documents.
You'll find flex board's connector (to the driver board) pinout and part number (Panasonic AXT580124) on sheet 25 titled "DMD Flex Interface" in the DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM schematic.
All of the PCB manufacturing requirements and recommendations, such as minimum/maximum trace length, are found in section nine titled "Printed Circuit Board (PCB) System Design Considerations for DMD Interface" from the DLP 0.45" WXGA Data Manual. Section 9.6.2 titled "Flex Considerations" goes into specific details regarding flex cable design.
The DLP4500 Datasheet details the DMD connector part numbers in Table 2 "Package-Specific Information" and the corresponding connector pins in Tables 3 or 4 depending on which package of the DLP4500 is used. The DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM light engine uses the FQE package type.
The ROM on the flex cable was added in case additional functionality was required. The additional functionality was not needed and the ROM on the LightCrafter 4500 EVM is not used. If you are creating a flex cable yourself, you do not need the ROM device.
Best regards,
Blair
