How to configure 120Hz over HDMI in Video Mode

Hey,

I want to use the projector as a second screen at 120Hz. My graphic card is Nvidia GT 720. However, it only gives me the option to select 60Hz output over HDMI. I talked to NVIDIA support and they informed me that no graphic card gives 120Hz over HDMI. To get 120Hz one has to use Dual Link DVI or DIsplay port.

Therefore, I was wondering how to drive my projector on 120Hz in video mode. My screen resolution is 1280x800 and I have read on this forum that the projector suppors 120Hz at this resolution. Kindly, inform me how can I get 120Hz output in video mode?

Hello Amir,
Please confirm if you are using LightCrafter 4500 EVM or any other regular DLP based commercial projector.

Hi Aamir,

We have tested the EVM working for the 120Hz; all you need to do is to find out if you can configure the graphics card to generate the video timing;

Hey Sanjeev,

I have Nvidia GT 720 graphic card and I talked to NVIDIA people, they told me that the card is capable of delivering 120Hz over direct DVI connection, without HDMI convertor. Do you know any way to configure my graphic cards to give 120Hz over HDMI? Since you have tested that the EVM gives 120Hz output.

On LightCrafter 4500 the miniHDMI connector doesn't carry the encrypted HDMI signals, it'll basically accept the DVI signal format.

You can look for DVI to mini-HDMI passive connector on the internet.
