DLP LightCrafter 4500 USB connectivity solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hi,

I would like to run multiple Lightcrafter 4500 systems. Is there a way to do this in pattern mode? If so can you please tell me how this is done?  Is there a way to setup pattern mode parameters and lock them in so that the lightcrafter will start with these setting rather than video mode? I suppose this would be changing the FPGA code, but I would also need help how to do this?

Can you please also confirm if the lightcrafter 4500 can actually run at 120Hz RGB in Video and pattern modes? I can change the blanking to make it work in video mode but a simple vsync flicker does not indicate it is running at 120 hz properly. If it can run at 120 Hz properly with 912x1140 resolution RGB, can you please tell me what are the Nvidia parameters to make this happen that I need to put in manually.

Best, Trevor

  • Hi Trevor,

It sounds like from your question that if you can get the lightcrafters initialized to the same state, that you might not need USB control of multiple lightcrafters. Is that correct?

If that's the case, you can use the GUI to build new .ini files and the load those files with the firmware. That will cause the LCr4500 to initialize into whatever state you choose.

The LCr4500 can actually run at 120Hz. For video settings, look at the DLPC350 manual - section 6: www.ti.com/.../dlpc350.pdf

There may also be useful information in the DLPC350 programmer's guide: www.ti.com/lit/pdf/dlpu010

    Thanks,
    Paul
