Hermetic packaging of DLP 7000 and DLP 9000 in vacuum

Hi,

I am looking to operate either the DLP 7000 or DLP 9000 in a low vacuum environment, but had some concerns.  Should I worry about the integrity of the DMD hermetic package in a low vacuum.  Also, are the DMDs hermetically sealed with vacuum or some other gas?  Do I need to worry about low vacuum outgassing from the DMD?

    There is a lubrication environment hermetically sealed within the DMD.

    We have never qualified our DMDs in near vacuum environments. Doing so would be considered outside of our specifications and void the warranty on the DMD.

    That being said, if you do attempt to use the DMD in this way, please let us know how it goes. Feel free to send me an E2E friend request and share the details of your findings.

    Thank you for the information! I am not sure whether we want to try and risk it, but I will let you know how it goes if we do.

    I also had a question about getting a different coating for the DMD window. We are using wavelengths in the NIR, and the high speed DMDs (DLP 7000 and DLP 9500) do not have an NIR option. Is it possible to have a custom version of either of these two DMDs with an NIR window coating? If so, where could I get a quote? Is the window coating the only the only element which is different for NIR DMDs?

    The window coating is the main difference between our NIR and visible DMDs. Unfortunately, we do not offer an NIR version of the DLP 7000 or 9500 at this time.  Take a look at this application note to see the visible window transmittance data outside the visible range.
