Hello,

I have lightcrafter 6500 EVM board, and tried to update bootloader image using UM232H module.

I followed the instruction described in page 49 in DLP LightCrafter 6500 EVM User's Guide.

When I run JTAG Flash Programmer and click the Detect Chain tool button, below error message displays.

Please let me know what's wrong with me.

Hi Youngjin,

I see that the software/GUI seem to be correct. Try double-checking the JTAG programmer hardware. Make sure that your connections are correct on the UM232H module. Also make sure that you have a jumper installed on connector J9.

If you are still having trouble, try attaching a couple pictures of your hardware and I will let you know what I see.

I've checked on what you said and tried many times, but no difference.

Hi Youngjin,

You do not appear to have power to your board in this picture. You need to plug in the board to program the flash.

Hi Youngjin,

I cannot really tell what the pin-out of your board is, but check the LightCrafter 6500 and 9000 User's Guide to make sure that it is wired properly and that your connections are making proper contact between the JTAG Programmer and the LightCrafter 6500.

Also, if you can, try using another USB cable and another USB port or another computer to make sure that neither of those are causing the issue.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having the exact same problem with my setup. What did you ultimately do to make it work?

Hello Tim,

I think the JTAG Flash programmer don't detect the DLP board occasionally.
I suggest you try to detect it several times if the wiring on the JTAG Programmer board is correct.

I just wanted to follow up with you on this thread as well. We will be testing the error Youngjin mentioned above to see if we can recreate it here and determine root cause.
