Can't Run Target CPU: XDS510 USB emulator. DM648 Davinci

Hi

The error below occasionally happens but unfortunately it is getting so frequent that I've got to find out why. From a power on reset, the target runs OK. But after I break, run the same GEL that I run on Connect, and then reload the target, I get the errors below.

Any idea[*I] what I should look at to find out what is causing this annoying problem?

Thx

Using CCS 3.3.82.

******CCS popup window************************

Can't Run Target CPU:
Error 0x00000024/-1060
Error during: Register, Execution,
An unknown error prevented the emulator from accessing the processor
in a timely fashion.
It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR.  This will disconnect each
target from the emulator.  The targets should then be power cycled
or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

  • Hi Eddie,

Are you using your own custom board, or DM648 EVM from TI?

    Regards,

  • I have the exact same problem with a spectrum digital EVM_OMAPL137 board - When I run it the first time it is fine. Then I press stop, soft-reset the board and recompile and reload the program. When I press run I usually get that error and CCS disconnects. The target actually continues to runs and does what its supposed to do, just the emulator stops working it seems. Then i need to quit and restart CCS.

It's very annoying, especially when combined with the other problem I am trying to figure out in which the logtrace window does NOT work on the first run of a program when CCS starts (sort of a catch-22!) :P
