No direct access to ADS1282 pins

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA1632

Sir,

I have an ADS1282EVM kit. Page 4 of the User Manual says there is direct access to the input pins with no protection or filtering.

However the circuit diagram shows there is an OPA1632 amp in the way?? Do I have to de-solder the IC??

Regards, Elio

  • Hi Elio,

    Good catch!

I think what happened is that an earlier revision of the ADS1282EVM did not have those buffers and the EVM User's guide was not updated. The User's guide schematic say's it Rev A when I think it is actually Rev C. Sorry for the bad documentation there!

Do note: those OPA1632's will not work properly unless you supply the +/-10V supplies. You may be able to take advantage of not supplying them so that the op amp pins are floating while you drive the op amp outputs from an external source.

    Regards,
    Chris

  • Thanks Chris,

I figured it must have been an outdated revision. I will just solder 2 thin wires wherever there is a wide pad.
