TI-API: Using the API /store/products/{tiPartNumber} brings back "customReel": true when I am expecting false for part LM324DR

Hi, I have been the API on

api-portal.ti.com/store-inventory-pricing-api

and trying this

transact.ti.com/.../LM324DR

and it always brings back

"customReel": true

for part number LM324DR

When I am expecting it to be false, when the purchasing manager tries to order online manually it says that it is a complete reel and not custom. Is there a mismatch in the system or am I reading it wrong.

Hi Sukhdeep,

The API response of "customReel": true matches the custom reel statement online at https://www.ti.com/product/LM324/part-details/LM324DR , which also states that custom reel is available for LM324DR.

Can you provide more details on the online order that was attempted? What quantity was requested and what response was received when placing the order?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick response. So from what you say the ciustomReel: true means that there are custom reels available. We were reading it as a custom reel will be provided if ordered. So if I want to make sure that when I order that I get a full reel do I ignore this field and just make sure that I order a full reel qty? will this then guarantee that I will receive a full reel.

Hi Sukhdeep,

If you order a quantity other than a full reel, you will have the option of receiving the parts on a custom reel if that option is available. Otherwise you will receive the parts in another carrier option. You can see more about the carrier options at https://www.ti.com/ordering-resources/carrier-packaging-options.html
