TCAN1146-Q1: Isolate Standy mode

Part Number: TCAN1146-Q1
Hi Team,
Now customer is using TCAN1146-Q1 in new project.
The initial configuration of TCAN1146-Q1 is normal mode, it can send and receive data normally.
After testing the bus without any message sending and receiving for 5 minutes, it is found that the message cannot be received normally and the bus status is abnormal.
Read 0x10-MODE CNTRL register through SPI Address, the discovery mode is automatically updated to Standby mode, which causes the CAN line to fail to receive and send.
Does it support shielding this function? Could you check it for customer? Thanks.

Best Regards

  • Songzhen,

There is indeed CAN FD shielding available on this device, but what may be happening here is the SWE timer elapsing and the device going to sleep, then waking because of CAN WUP from the received CAN message. Can the customer read the interrupt registers to verify this? If it is the SWE timer, we can do the following to stop it from putting the device in to sleep mode:

The customer can also disable the SWE timer by setting bit 7 in register 0x1C to 1, and on power up I recommend clearing all interrupts. Once this is done, let me know if the issue still occurs?

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
