DS125DF111: SFP+ transceiver module can not detect high-speed interface differential signals coming from Re-timer DS125DF111

Hello,

I encountered an high-speed interface disconnection issue while designing DS125DF111 in SFP+ adapter card.

We founded that there is a DS125DF111EVM product for verifying usage from TI website.

However, that one uses SMA connector in the board.

We were trying to search if there is other related EVM board with SFP+ connector to verify our SFP+ adapter card. But looks like no good news.

Is there anyone who can help to advise ?

I would be really appreciated.

Hi,

Unfortunately, TI does not have a DS125DF111 EVM board option implementing SFP+ connector. You will need to separately order a SFP+ module compliance board from another vendor.

May I extend the question ?

As for the re-timer, how do I verify the output channel transmission works ?

Should I measure the TX RX pair signals from output side with oscilloscope ?

My situation is 10Gbps B.W. can be read through SFP+ connector if SFI interface bypass re-timer from host side.

You should measure the retimer Tx output after the channel using your scope. You would want to apply the SFP+ B point mask and evaluate performance. You may tune the retimer Tx output amplitude and de-emphasis to optimize your SFP+ output mask margin.
