Hi
Does the TCAN1042H can replace ATA6563?
What are our advantages

Hi Gareth,
Yes, TCAN1042H serves the same primary functions including high speed CAN communication with integrated digital voltage translation (Vio). To achieve the same data rate specification of 5Mbps, a 'G' variant of TCAN1042 should be selected. If 2Mbps is sufficient, a non-'G' device may also be used.
I haven't compared these devices before, but a quick review of the datasheet shows TCAN1042 has superior bus fault protection, ESD protection, and loop timing specifications. The ATA6563 appears to have a higher junction temperature rating, but I believe this is only for the Grade 0 device as the Grade 1 specifications are characterised at the same max temperature as TCAN1042.
Let me know if you have any more quetions.

Eric Schott
