TCAN1042H: Can Signal is in Stanby is bad

Part Number: TCAN1042H

Hello

Im developing a new sensor device, i measued the differential output voltage is not at 2.5V

Our can Signal drops diwn to 2V when Tranceiver is in STB, when 2 Trancceivers in STB its droping down to 1.25V

I hope you can help me out

  • Raphael,

Can you elaborate on what else is on the CAN bus, other transceivers I mean? In standby, the CAN bus voltage is expected to go to 0V, as stated in the datasheet. What looks like is happening here is that 1 or 2 CAN transceivers are in standby mode biasing the CANH and CANL pins to 0V, while other transceivers are trying to hold the CAN bus to 2.5V. So there is a leakage path being created attenuating the overall bus voltage level.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
