TPD6S300: CC lines signal flow direction

Hi Team,

I am planning to use port protection IC TPD6S300 for CC lines in my application. We require the CC lines signal flow should be in both the direction (source and sink). Can you please let me know whether the CC lines of TPD6S300 supports bi-directional or uni-directional flow?

Hello,

Yes, the TPS6S300 allows for bi-directional flow on the CC pins but it does not offer bi-directional protection. The TPS6S300 only offers protection on the connector side of the device, not the system side. But the risk for CC pins being shorted is on the connector side which is where you want your protection
