SN65LVCP408: Reference Design, SDI, Vbb, and Eval

Hello!

I am trying to design somewhat of a multiple SDI switcher. Starting with the LMH0324 Equalizer, going to the SN65LVCP408, and then being reclocked and driven with the LMH0318.

TI support gave me a reference design of an old Eval Board (SN65LVCP408_418 EVM) but I would like to see another one if you have it!

I am mostly interested on the Vbb (pin 16) as I do not know how to wire this pin.

Also just to check, SN65LVCP408 is compatible with SDI signals as long as it has been equalized first correct?

Hi Burk,

For SDI applications and given pathological pattern, customers use DS25CP104 device. Please take a look at this part. Here is a link to the data sheet:

Hey Nasser,

A follow up question. It is possible to use multiple DS25CP104 devices and daisy chain them? In our design we want to use essentially a 5x3 Crosspoint. I see that 4x4 is the largest Crosspoint in that family of devices

Hi J,

We are not recommending multiple redrivers or equalizers being cascaded since this would accumulate random jitter.
