DS110DF111: could DS110DF111 and DS110DF1610 be configure as mux?

Part Number: DS110DF111
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS110DF1610

Hi team,

Could the DS110DF111 be used as a 1:2 mux / 2:1 mux, and could the DS110DF1610 be configure as 1:4 mux / 4:1 mux?

From the datasheet, if I understand correctly, they should be able to do 1 input with multiple output modes?

Could we have multiple input, and select whichever input to a single output (ie, switch between CH0 and CH1 input to CH0 output)?

If it could be done, will it route ethernet packets from the selected channel while the input packets from the not-selected input channel will be dropped, or it is capable to store the packets of the not-selected channel  first and passes the packets to the output when it become the selected channel?

Regards,

SK Loo

  • Hi, see my inputs below.

    • Could the DS110DF111 be used as a 1:2 mux / 2:1 mux, and could the DS110DF1610 be configure as 1:4 mux / 4:1 mux?
      • The DS110DF111 does not have a mux per se. It simply supports loopback, configurable via shared register 0x07
      •
      • The DS110DF1610 implements 4x4 crosspoint for each set of four channels, so 1:4/4:1 mux is supported
    • From the datasheet, if I understand correctly, they should be able to do 1 input with multiple output modes?
      • Yes for DS110DF1610, no for DS110DF111
    • Could we have multiple input, and select whichever input to a single output (ie, switch between CH0 and CH1 input to CH0 output)?
      • Yes for DS110DF1610, no for DS110DF111
    • If it could be done, will it route ethernet packets from the selected channel while the input packets from the not-selected input channel will be dropped, or it is capable to store the packets of the not-selected channel  first and passes the packets to the output when it become the selected channel?
      • The input packets to non-selected channel would be dropped. These packets are not stored

    Thanks,
