Hi Lucas,
Thanks for your reply. One more quesiton, can DP83TG720 support TC8? I noticed the pin defination of 812 and 720 are not totally the same, so is it doable for a compatible hardware design? Do you have any compatible design document for 812 and 720? Customer want to do compatible design so that they can choose populate 812 or 720 based on system requirement. Thank you.
Arie
Hi Arie,
What tests are you looking for in TC8? DP83TG720 is compliant to TC12. TC8 is an ECU level spec, while TC12 is a gigabit PHY spec.
The 720 and 812 are pin compatible. Hardware should be designed for 720 specifications and BOM changes can be made to switch for the 812. There is an app note for compatible design between the 720 and 812, however this is under NDA.
Thanks,
Lucas
