Hello Sherry,
https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla291/snla291.pdf
Based on the documents, it looks like short between MDI+ and MDI- or open can be detected.
The TDR launches a pulse for testing and the test cases you mentioned effectively shorts the TDR pulse to supply or ground.
Let me check if this is something handled by the device and come back by end of this week.

Hi Sreenivasa,
In the document that you sent to me said that "The IEEE 802.3bw clause 96 definition of the 100BASE-T1 PMA requires a PHY to tolerate open and short circuit conditions without suffering damage, up to a certain electric potential."
Below is Clause 96 description. In my understanding, the short fault includes short between MDI+ and MDI-, short to power and short to ground. But in our document, we don't clarify what short fault can be detected by our TDR. Could you please help confirm whether our TDK can detect below three short faults?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Sherry
Hello Sherry,
Please see below.
I expect to provide additional inputs by end of this week.

Hello Shery,
We support detection of all these shorts. We don't differentiate between any short type while reporting these shorts.
Can you send link to the standard that you are referring.

Sreenivasa
Hi Sreenivasa,
Ok, got it! Thanks for your help!
I will send you the document by email. In addition, our 811 support TC8 function, right?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Sherry
