TCAN1042HV: How do TCAN1042HV be waken up?

Part Number: TCAN1042HV

Hi team,

I am still confused about the WUP for waking up, could you help to describe in detail how do we achieve WUP?

From below snapshot, I think firstly we firstly add filtered dominant for tWK_FILTER, and then add filtered recessive dominant for tWK_FILTER, finally add filtered dominant for tWK_FILTER again. Once above is finished, RXD would be pulled low to notice MCU, right?

But I am confused about the sequence in the datasheet, why we would have some pulses like below" waiting for filtered recessive"?

Wish to get your reply, thanks!

  • Miles,

Your understanding of the WUP signal is correct, it s a dominant, then recessive, then dominant pulse, all pulses are recommended to be greater than the tWK_FILTER time. The "Waiting for Filtered Recessive" and "Waiting for filtered dominant" parts are meant to convey that other signals can happen between the dominant/recessive pulses meant to wake the device up.

So, if the transceiver is in standby mode and a dominant pulse is receive that meets the tWK_FILTER requirement, the low-power wake receiver will then be "waiting" for the recessive pulse that meets the tWK_FILTER requirement. Other signals that don't meet this requirement can be seen between the required dominant and recessive pulses, but won't affect the overall reception of the wake pattern.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
