TCAN4550-Q1: SSP

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550

Hi,

If I use the default Transmitter Delay Compensation Value, what's the default SSP?

After TX sends 1 bit, how long the RX starts receive?

Thank you!

  • Hi Wayne,

In its default configuration, there is no extra delay added for the secondary sample point (SSP) as this feature is disabled in the Data Bit Timing register (h100C [23]).

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,

  • Eric

    Thanks for your support.
Do you mean the RX point is just the SSP of TX for my above second question?

  • Hi Wayne,

With transmitter delay compensation disabled (DBTP.TDC = 0 by default), the RX sample point will be according to the data bit rate configuration (with no additional delay). The TX signal will be driven at the start of this bit time, so the delay between these two times will be determined only by the data bit rate configuration (DTSEG1).

See Section 4.1 of the TCAN4550 software user's guide here for more info on bit timing configurations.

Let me know if this is clear or if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
