Do you have RS485 EVM to support custom baudrate and 9-bit?

Hi,

I got an instrument with RS485 interface.

But the baudrate is 111111,9,n,1.

Does TI have RS485 IC or EVM can support it?

Sorry, Eric,

I always use a module like USB to RS485 converter.

I'm not familiar with RS485, so I can't answer your question. Slight smile

I can't reply to the thread.

I already have the company email address in my account, I don't know why.

  • Yu-Hung,

We have RS485 transceivers that support up to 50Mbps, and the standard 8-pin RS485 EVM supports all of our 8-pin RS485 transceivers. Here is a link to our generic half-duplex RS485 EVM.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Thanks Eric.

I also find this EVM on mouser.

    I only use RS485 A+/B-.

But I don't know does this EVM support special baudrate and 9 databits.

    Because I need 111111,9,N,1.

  • Yu-Hung,

I'm glad you were able to find the EVM. The RS485 transceiver merely translates the data from a logic signal to a bus signal, so whether or not it is 9 bits or 8 bits is irrelevant to the transceiver itself. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I know the notation you're using with 111111,9,N,1. What is this baud rate in bits per second?

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
