Hi,
Customer is having a continuous transmission problem in a more than 5m distance.
Customer aims is to transmit USB 3.2 Gen1 over the whole transmission path. Their biggest problem is the 10m cable between two ODU connectors. According to them, this should be continuous. On the red marked positions we can place some electronic which can help to amplify the transmitted signal.
They tried to build up a transmission link with the TUSB1002EVM. Until now they succeed no continuous transmission link with more than 5m which can transmit USB 3.2 Gen1.
Is there any alternative solutions, any alternative products which can provide the appropriate gain and compensate the cable loss?
Regards,
Maynard
Hi Maynard,
Customer should try using TUSB1002A instead of TUSB1002 for this application. Two devices should be used on both ends of the 10 m cable section. however additional cabling 3m and 0.5 m cable will also degrade performance. I do not believe that this will work at USB3. USB2 is more likely to work here. In this case TUSB216I should be used at both ends of the 10m cable.
