HD3SS460: DP over USB type C via passive MUX: typical cable length? Isolation circuit when IC is powered off?

Part Number: HD3SS460

Team,

Assuming the below system:
             USB Host/GPU ---> HD3SS460 --> Connector| ----- USB Type C cable ---   |Connector ---> HD3SS460 ---> video Sink

Could you please help with the below question?

-What USB type C cable lengths can we expect between source and sink (DP1.2 4k/60Hz)?
The USB-C cables are rather thin compared to DisplayPort cables, so the attenuation will be higher.
Are there any empirical values on what distances are possible here?
I understand that there will difference in quality between USB-C cable but we are just looking for a typical value to compare the reach versus a DP cable.

-Is the link training transparent for the HD3SS460 passive mux?

-In Figure 14 of the HD3SS460 data sheet there is the note:
It is recommended to add isolation circuit if voltage is to be present on any of the I/Os while the HD3SS460 device is off.
Can you please recommend a TI isolation/protection IC to achieve this?
Can the problem be avoided if the device are supplied from VBUS and/or powered from a rail located in the system itself?

Thanks in advance,

A.
