SN75DP159: Problem of 3840x2160@60Hz

Part Number: SN75DP159

Hi TI experts,

We are developing a new project for SDI to HDMI converter. See Blocks below.

3840x2160@30Hz : no problem.

3840x2160@60Hz : Depending on HDMI cable, there are various symptoms such as screen flickering, no output, and noise.

1. Is SN75DP159 sensitive to HDMI cable properties?

2. Can HDMI signals be amplified to SN75DP159?

3. Are there any schematic fix points that can improve the symptoms? Please review the schematic.

Thanks!

Downey Kim.

The pullup/pulldown resistors on the DP159 need to follow the below requirement.

    [3-Level Input pins]
    Pull-up: 65k +/- 10%
    Pull-down: 0 to 65k + 10%

    [2-Level (LVCMOS) Input pins]
    Pull-up: 0 to 65k + 10%
    Pull-down: 0 to 65k + 10%

For both 3.3V and 1.1V, we recommend

one 100 nF cap on each power pin.

4.7 pF and 10 pF on each power node.

One bulky 10uF cap per power node.

Do you have the 2k pullup on SDA_SNK and SCL_SNK populated?

Have you tried to change the VSADJ resistor? Changing the VSADJ resistor will change the output swing amplitude.

Since you are using the DP159 in the I2C mode, can I also get both Page 0 and Page 1 register dump? The Page 0 registers are in the datasheet. To access Page 1 registers, please write 0x01 to register 0xFF first, and then dump from register 0x00 to 0xB1.

Can I also take a look at your layout if possible?

    Thanks

    David
