DS160PT801X16EVM: The link with the gen4 ssd

Part Number: DS160PT801X16EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIGCONARCHITECT

Hi,

The link with the gen4 ssd may not be connected.

Sometimes the link is connected(gen4 x4) on reboot, sometimes it isn't. (OS: linux)

I tested it with SSDs from 3 companies.

Is there anything I can check with the sigconarchitect tool?

Thanks, Youngho.

  • Hi Yongho,

SigconArchitect GUI can tell you if the link is connected or not and LTSM states. Further, it provides indication of signal quality parameters such as eye opening. So it can be used for debugging this issue.

  • Hello Nasser,

Eye measurement is possible only when linked up.
If the link up fails, could you explain in detail how to debug it?
(For example, at what stage did the EQ phase fail?)

    Thanks,

    Youngho

  • Hi Youngho,

1). SigconArchitect can indicate what data rate device is getting connected at. Please use the latest SigconArchitect GUI, go to High Level Page, Device Status(send us an image of this page), and Die Status.

2). Please let us know what EEPROM settings are you using. Also, what SSD and the overall setup. If you like you can send me a friend request and provide this information.

    Regards ,, Nasser
