Hello support team,

Can we synchronize the TPS25830 with a 3.3V amplitude clock source?

We don't know the bias voltage of the RT/SYNC pin, so we are wondering if the AC coupling a positive edge will exceed the threshold of 3.5V.

Hi, Kiyoshi,

For TPS25830-Q1, 3.3V amplitude may not work. The min high voltage is required above 3.5V. If you want to use 3.3V amplitude clock source, I suggest you use TPS25830A-Q1.

Thank you for your reply.

But we are actually considering using TPS25831-Q1 (for DCP).

(because we've heard that there is no plan to develop an A version of it yet.)

Is it acceptable if we apply a 5V amplitude clock with AC coupling?

The recommended input voltage of the RT/SYNC is between 0 and VCC, so we are concerned that it may exceed VCC.

Please go ahead to use 5V amplitude clock with DC coupling. It's fine if RT/SYNC voltage not exceed VCC much.

Hi, Kiyoshi,

I think you might misunderstood me. We don't need to choose AC or DC coupling from our part. I mean you just need to connect a clock without negative voltage. Min and max voltage should meet our spec.
