Thanks YT

  • YT,

Thanks for the excel file with screen shots.

Could you explain what you mean by crash? Is the ALP not responding after the cable is connected? When you disconnect the cable does it respond?

In your excel file there are 2 ALP info tab screen captures. The second one shows Pixel Clock as 0MHz. Are you supplying any external PCLK?

I am curious what's the cable you are using to connect. Could you upload pictures of your board and the cable?

Did you check the jumper and switch settings are proper and as per the EVM user manual?

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • Hi Vishy

    DS90UB929 crash_0922.xlsx

Please see attach for the environment setting and register setting.

we're plan to use 929 internal pattern Generator and PCLK as attached pics.

The 924EVM and 929EVM jumper and switch settings set as default EVM setting.

We use 1m LVDS cable as attached pics.

When the cable is connected between 924EVM and 929EVM.

    1.Pattern Generator page can't open.

2.Registers page can open but change the value didn't success.

3.When disconnect the cable, the 929 EVM still not respond.

    Thanks,

    Derek

  • Derek,

Let me check about this and come back to you by Friday.

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • Derek,

Thanks for the updated excel file.

In the picture you sent, I see 924EVM powered through the banana clips. But don't see the 12V supply on the 929EVM. Only usb connected. Am I missing something? Just want to be sure 929 is properly powered per the user guide. USB power is only for the on-board USB2ANY circuit for PC communication.

Also, please make sure you are connecting to a proper USB port on the PC side and not through a usb hub. USB hub don't provide necessary current for the usb2any circuit operation.

Please check your STP cable is okay. Have you tried with another one?

Can you test with a different EVM (if possible), with a different 924 or 929 EVM?

When you have the EVMs connected, could you capture the info tab (don't try Pat Gen tab) and share? Please capture the full screen including the status message on the bottom left. Also, please check what you see when you choose "Scan Connected Devices" on the info tab? This should show all the valid i2c addresses seen on the bus.

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • Hi Vishy

we use power supply 12V for 929 EVM.

I tried other 929 EVM and cable but have same situation.

I think cable is fine. I set Pattern Generator on 929 EVM side first then connect to 924. the LCD can show color bar, but the ALP tool are crashed.

    Thanks,

  • Derek,

I suggest you connect 929EVM to 924, check link is fine and then enable Pattern Generator on the 929 side. Please also share Patttern Generator settings you are trying.

    Thanks,

    Vishy
