HD3SS3212: How to connect device and host signals properly?

Part Number: HD3SS3212

Hi,

in my design I am using HD3SS3212IRKST multiplexer in followed configuration:

USB Type-C Receptacle (Connection for Host e.g. Notebook/PC) -> Mux HD3SS3212IRKST -> Connector for USB 3.0 Device (e.g. camera)

My Device is not recognized by notebook at all no matter if connect USB-Type C cable in one direction or other (flipped/unflipped).

My question is how do I have to correctly connect SuperSpeed signals for device side and host side using HD3SS3212IRKST Mux?

In my attached schematic link you can see how I connected everything please note that SEL is floating but during testing I connected it to GND or 3V3 but still no recognition of USB 3.0 Device.

What I tested and figured out so far:

  1. It doesn't matter if I use termination caps (220nF) on Tx1_P/Tx1_N &  Tx2_P/Tx2_N or not populated them and route through = Device is not recognized by Host
  2. if I swap connections on device side like that A0P = TXP, A0N=TXN, A1P=RXP, A1N=RXN (just manually with wires most likely not impedance conform)  = I get at least a windows message from Host that Device is not recognized properly (Connection Status ->Device failed enumeration)

What I can rule out as errors:

  • USB 3.0 Device Camera (testes with other hardware)
  • PCB Impedance (report is available)

Thanks a lot!
