TPS65987DJEVM: Configuration setting

Hi Jason,

Is there a reason you need to use the TPS65987DDJ instead of the TPS65987DDH?

Also, do you know if the PD controller is just negotiating the contract to 3A or you can see 3A being pulled in on VBUS? Can you confirm that a valid patch with those configuration changes were being loaded to the EVM successfully and that you are power cycling the board after flashing?

I am using TI's EVM board TPS65987DJEVM.

I loaded to the EVM successfully and that you are power cycling the board after flashing. 
Because I can see the log on total phase. Source Capability show 20V/2.5A. if I set the PDO 4 maximum current is 2.5A.

So I am confused about why I can increase voltage to 20V when I put the 20V buttom.

I set the maximum current is 2A, but the log show Max is 3A. Do you know why?

Only I change the Source PDO 1 maximum current, the log operating current will change. 

For example,

if the Source PDO 1(5V) maximum current is 2A. The log show 2A Max 3A

if the Source PDO 1(5V) maximum current is 3A. The log show 3A Max 3A

if the Source PDO 1(5V) maximum current is 2A. , the Source PDO 4 (20V)maximum current is 3A. The log always show 2A Max 3A

I also follow the training video to writhe register. The video change the maximum current PDO 4 from 3A to 2.25A, and the current become 2.25A, but I sill at 3A. Only I change PDO 1 maximum current 3A to 2.25A, the PDO 4 maximum become 2.25A. so I am not sure where I do wrong.

Hi Jason,

I will look into your scenarios but I noticed that your GUI shows that Configuration File for supported devices is using the TPS65987DDH version. This may cause issues because you mentioned you are using the TPS65987DDJ version as that is a different ROM than the config device that's selected on the GUI.

Because I do not find the DDH Version in the GUI.

The GUI I download from TI.com. I think it is the newest version.

and the EVM board is for DDJ, so I am confused about that.

Hi Hari, I am currently trying to run the configuration file for TPS65987DJEVM. I am also facing the same issue as Jason, I can't seem to find the correct EVM selection (DDJ) on the GUI I have downloaded. Could you please advise?

You could apply the DDH version to solve this issue.
