Which signal conditioning device should you use for your PCIe Gen 1,2,3,4 or 5 applications? And can you use it for a data rate other than the one specified?

Below is a table of TI PCIe signal conditioning devices and their corresponding data rate. Each device is tuned to operate most effectively at the advertised data rate, since these devices provide linear gain up to the Nyquist frequency (half of the PCIe bit rate for that generation), but not beyond. For this reason, each device is backwards compatible with previous PCIe generations, but will not function with future generations. It is recommended to use each device at its intended data rate and perform system modeling to ensure your performance requirements are met.
