TCAN1145-Q1: Spec inquiry

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi team,

For TCAN1145-Q1, can you just confirm if it can support Selective wake up (32bytes DLC)? A customer request a confirmed message.

Spec:

-. CAN FD                 : 2Mbps

-. CAN NM message : 32bytes

-. Selective wake up frame : should be supported

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Hi Sam,

Selective wake for CAN transceivers only supports wake up frames (WUF) that follow the classic CAN format (not CAN FD). This means that the maximum data length code (DLC) will be limited to 8 bytes.

The ISO 11898 standard for partial networking with selective wake does not specify behavior for wake up from a CAN FD frame, and there is currently no transceiver on the market that supports wake on CAN FD (and likely never will be). I recommend informing the customer of this so that the requirement can be reevaluated.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
